About Us
Welcome to the Harbourside Forum website.
The Harbourside Forum was set up in November 2005 by a group of businesses and venues in the Harbourside area and includes other external agencies such as: Bristol City Council, Avon and Somerset Police, Avon Fire & Rescue and the Safer Bristol Partnership.
Originally the Forum included venues that lined Bordeaux Quay, the waterfront pedestrian walkway that extends from the City Centre to the Lloyds TSB amphitheatre. However, since conception the Forum has gradually grown and now includes venues that have opened as the new Harbourside area (beyond Anchor Square) has developed and expanded.
The Forum's mission is ‘to work together to make the Harbourside an attractive destination for everyone at all times’ and has the following objectives:
- To improve communication between all of the member venues and agencies.
- To improve the overall image of the Harbourside area.
- To set collective standards between venues.
The Harbourside is lively, vibrant and diverse and has much to offer including a multitude of bars, cafés, restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas and shops amongst other attractions, all surrounding the beautiful waterside location. The Harbourside Forum has been formed to address a number of high profile, late night incidents of crime and disorder that have resulted in negative media attention of the area. The purpose of this site is to communicate the collective initiatives that are in place to address issues such as crime, disorder and public safety in order to ensure maximum enjoyment of this beautiful destination.
The area has something for everyone. From families out for a leisurely stroll, school children visiting the historic harbour and its attractions, friends meeting up after work through to late night revellers, eating out, going to the cinema and listening to live music - Harbourside is truly the heart of the city.
